Mindful Minutes

Hi Everyone,
It has been quite some time since I have posted on here but with everything that has been going on in the world you lose track of time. Since the UK have gone into lockdown I have been trying to find a way to take time out and work on myself. One thing I have always struggled with is switching off and recharging, I am such a terrible over thinker and when it comes to relaxing and being able to switch off in the evening it is something that I can't do, so I thought I would share with you some ways that have really helped me work on myself and my anxiety.

One of the main things that I have found works for me is meditation. I use the Calm app which you can get on both Androids and Apple. It is actually amazing! You can either use the free meditations or if you prefer to use more deeper meditations you can actually pay a subscription fee. Every evening before I go to sleep I like to listen to the "Getting ready for sleep", it is a 7 day series to educate and help you to be able to relax yourself and your mind before going to sleep. This app is something I use every single day and find so helpful because it kind of makes you forget what you were thinking about and makes you concentrate on the meditation you are listening too.

I am also a MASSIVE book worm, so reading really helps me relax and distracts me from anything I am thinking about. I think the main thing is with reading it is like an escape, you get so invested into the story you are reading and want to know more about that rather than dwelling and over thinking about other things. I have so many book favourites and I am hoping at some point to share some of my favourites with you.

I have the "Mrs Hinch" book which I use to plan out my days and evenings rather than for cleaning ha. But I have found that planning what I am doing throughout the day and planning my evenings have really worked best for me. I love having a routine and it helps keep me more relaxed when I have my routine to follow.

My skin care routine also play a massive part in relaxing me for the evening, my skin is something that I really suffer with, I get terrible breakouts so looking after my skin is an absolute MUST! Every evening I like to cleanse my skin and apply my moisturisers and serums before I go to bed, I just find that doing that helps me relax ready for the evening.
